So what would we have to give up for him?

i guess a late round pick?

I checked, he was a 3rd round pick, so i think the lowest tender you can offer was the round they were drafted in. A 3rd rounder for Atogwe? Interesting

a third in 2011....

The niners need to get off their asses and sign a solid safety here. we ain't going to get a safety in the draft that's going to come in & start & tear it up. no f**king way.
Rolle's gone. Which I'm surprised we didn't go after. GAY! Just like this mgmnt! Atogwe & Clark are our best bets. The cat from Indy i think it's Bethea might cost to much.

bringing in Atowge puts him and Sing in an ackward position. If he plays well for the rest of his career and stays in love with Sing's daughter than great. But if contract stalemates come up, poor play that warrants demotion or cuts, fights at home, etc. things could get weird quick. NFL is dog eat dog, wouldnt want to mix family into it.

good point
If the cost for atogwe is only a third rounder I might have to kill kittens if the niners do not trade for him.

he was tendered at the right of refusal level, we wouldn't have to give up anything but the rams would be able to match

Atogwe is one of the few FA's this year I really want the niners to sign. I may have to pray to the football gods about Atogwe tonight.

Yeah...That's why i would be kinda disappointed if we don't try to sign him.

You don't want to offer too much, because if the Rams pass then we'd have to pay him.

No it's not a good point. It's got nothing to do with business. Family life and relationships should not effect what happens between the lines or in the locker room.

There is precedent for this sort of thing anyway. Chris Snee OG NY Giants is married to Tom Coughlin's daughter. Have you heard any problems between those two?

yay that means he'll be a niner

I think it means the opposite. If you were him would you want to be around the father of chick your smashing.

plus if he dumps her, itll be even worse
