i agree, but the second part of your sentence isn't going to help your argument. they're going to bring up a lack of pass rush or something. we need both IMO but we could use a cornerback a little more. we need o-line over both so the defense can get some damn rest !

right, cuz finding shutdown corners is so easy. also all three(asomugha, bailey, revis) shutdown corners that exist in the NFL cant cover for more than 5 seconds. a pass rush makes average corners great and great corners superstars.

nmadi does a hell of a job for the amount of pressure the raiders get on the qb.

That's why everybody's mock draft says "IF BERRY OR HADEN DON'T FALL"
Our Defense had the 3rd most sacks in the NFL so pass-rush is not the problem. Your two starting corners being out for the rest of the season by week 8 while also losing your 4th string CB in FA the year before is what screwed us this year.
I think we can all agree that Nate isn't Nmadi but he also isn't Bly or Spencer. Late in the 1st round the only #1 corner in the draft will be gone. Almost any starter (except K/P/KR/PR/FB) is more valuable than a 3rd or 4th string CB in the 1st round. Right now whoever else we draft will not be higher than 3rd string with Brown starting next to Clements.

I think we are solid with Clements, Spencer, Brown and Bly as the 4 main CB's. I can totally live with using a 3rd round pick or beyond on a CB. If a really good CB prospect is there in the 2nd i will understand picking one there too.

CB is not the biggest problem. We need a FS more so and more pass rush. OT is the bigger need however.

We keep Nate our starting corners are fine. We need a pass rushing OLB more than anything in the secondary, including a safety, but hey if Eric Berry falls why not, ey.
