Karlos Dansby

MLB right ? he's a nasty player. a player we can use on our team

i really don't see the niners pursuing a starting ILB unless it's through the draft and more specifically Rolando McClain.
I would love to have him. He has a nasty disposition thats missing from our defense.
he'll get franchised.

this.

But yea, I'd welcome him with open arms.
Weird trade thought McNabb to Arizona, and Dansby to Philly with some draft picks or whatever thrown in the mix. Fixes both teams biggest needs this off season if Warner retires.

Why would the Cardinals ever consider this? McNabb is going to be 34 next year. He's played through one full 16 game season just once in five years. Why would they replace an aging Quarterback with another one? They'd be better off signing someone like Kerry Collins and drafting a Quarterback in April, all while retaining Dansby.

The Cadinals will franchise Dansby. Who else are they use that tag on?
Good player, but this is the most stocked position on our team, ILB is the last position we need.

I think he has something in his contract that states he can't be franchised for 3rd straight year? not sure though?

Well, if would get franchised for a third straight time, I think the rules for the franchise tag would be that he would get the average of the five highest-paid players in the league.

So he would get Manning-type money (i.e. Top-5 QB money) and I would guess would be the highest-paid player on his team, even before Warner and Fitzgerald. I don´t think the Cardinals want to pay that kind of money to an 3-4 ILB, even in a year without a salary cap.

I just thought of that for no reason. But what you say would make no sense. Kerry Collins is a much worse QB than McNabb plus he's 4 years older. McNabb is only 33 and can still be very productive for the next 4/5 years. Teams want to win now. Kerry Collins isn't gonna win them any games while McNabb can. and they can still be developing somebody if Leinart isn't the answer. I have no clue who they can franchise. But I would take McNabb over Collins every which way possible.
If we could get Dansby during the offseason as UFA it would be great. Doubt that it would happen but if it did it would be wonderful addition to our defense.

Yea, you're right, but if he isn't.... I always like to pick up FAs from inside the division!
