What about Kerry Rhodes, FS for the Jets?

I heard that he's been at odds with the coaching staff and was even demoted from the starting lineup at one point this year. He still has ball skills and is a tackling machine, and he's still relatively young and very experienced.

If released this offseason, maybe we should give him a roster spot for camp competition. What do you think?

Kerry Rhodes Stats

O wait so his name isn't mark roman. Im down for it with mike getting injured like this past offseason i think it be a great move. I won't see mark roman fall down, just flat out get beat and let guys get behind him, and wiff on tackles like the one were he was trying to tackle the packers wr but came up eating the ground. Get someone in to help DG and if mike goes down we have someone who could be solid backup/possible starter.

He actually is their FS, but I'd definitely be interested in acquiring Rhodes.
I would love to get Rhodes. Not sure he gets released since that defense is pulling together in the playoffs, but I would jump on him if he did become available.

Correction noted.
get him now. I'm pretty sure he's relatively young.

Agreed. Rhodes is a very good player. Jets have an abundance of good safeties -- but do they let Rhodes walk? I'm not so sure.

They can get good value for Rhodes with free agency being relatively week. 3rd rounder and a future 4th may entice them to pull the trigger.
for some reason, Jets fans hated Rhodes. i have no idea why, or if he said something that pissed everyone off...

he had a pro bowl caliber season. when i was making my personal pro bowl rosters, i had to include him as Ed Reed's backup at FS. he had the 2nd best season for a FS in the AFC statistically. i was expecting poor stats based on all the "Rhodes is a bust" outcry this season.

ill take him.
Got benched this year for undisciplined play, not wrapping up and always going for the kill shot.

He's a little talky. He was comparing himself to Ed Reed this week, so you get the feeling that he is pretty full of himself.

I will take him though. He's a good player.

Sounds like Goldson.
I'd trade a 2nd for him

Hmmm. Actually, sounds like a better statistical version of a combination of Keith Lewis (kill shot) and Mark Roman (not wrapping up, undisciplined play).
