Willie Colon, RT

Nearly every mock draft has us picking an RT. Pittsburgh's Willie Colon would solve our problems and allow us to save a first round pick, assuming that's the direction we go with one of those picks. Colon is still young, 27, and had an excellent season at RT. He's a very capable run blocker and handled the Steeler's pass-heavy offense well this season. His impact would be bigger than any rookie that could come in. From the first day of training camp, he'd be our starter. Our offensive line was battered on the right side. Rachal really needs to play next to someone that knows what they're doing. Our right side with Rachal and a rookie RT is a scary thought. IMO, Rachal would benefit tremendously by playing between Heitmann and Colon. With some stability at RT, our offense could really start to gel. Colon is consistant, he's young, and he doesn't have durability issues. He's exactly what we need. While his signing wouldn't garner too much attention by most fans, it would be an amazing move for this franchise.

I agree he'd be a solid addition but as with just about every FA under the age of 30 his movement will be restricted without a new CBA.

He'll be an RFA because of the lack of a new CBA, and we won't go after him if it requires giving up either a second or first round draft pick, which is what the Steelers will likely tender their starting RT.

Pitts Line played like crap this year. Ben was harrased as much as any qb in football. Colon was a big part of that!

Too inconsistent. He had a decent year this year but has sucked at run blocking and had a horrible year last year.

He stepped up big and was their best Olineman this season. Bruce Arians has slowly been converting their offense into a passing attack. That, combined with Ben's style will always lend itself to many sacks given up.

You can't just write off all Steelers lineman because the team struggled and Big Ben was sacked a lot. He's always the most-hit QB, but not because his lineman can't block. That's just the way he plays. He keeps the play alive and to tries to create. You can't fault the line for that.

It is possible to have to good lineman play on crappy lines.

you're right and after checking football focus I appeared to be wrong.

With that said. I'm not 100% sold on Staley at LT.
