PFT/Yahoo: Reggie Bush Won't be Back in NO Next Year

i would sign him in a heartbeat but i doubt the saints will let him walk.

Only if he signed for less then a million.

I've been a Bush supporter since he came into the league but its incredible that he can't succeed in a wide open offense like the Saints have. I'm beginning to think he is nothing more then a glorified 3rd down back.

I was watching the Saints play the other day and he had a 20 something yard run and they said that was his career long!!! Wow... Being only an hour away from New Orleans, I can tell you that all the Saints fans can careless about Reggie.

Your stat is simply wrong. he had a 55 yarder this year vs the Rams and had a 43 yarder the year before.

Reggie Bush is not your typical RB -- he's special. The guy had 200 catches in his first 34 games...that's insane and an NFL record (actually tied w/ Boldin, a WR!). He's also deadly in the PR/KR game.

In 2008, Bush has 9 TDs in 9 games. For his career, bush has 30 TDs in 47 games, only 33 starts. For his career Bush has scored a TD every 23 times he has touched the ball, including returns. By comparison, Ten's Chris Johnson scores every 27 times he touches the ball, Peterson every 26 times, Gore every 36 times, MJD every 20 times (15 on rushes, 18 on offense), and LT every 16 times.

These are ridiculous numbers to contemplate, since Bush rarely gets the ball on goalline plays.

Bush would be a great fit for a spread offense, eluding defenders on draw plays.
I would take him in a sec
Gore and Bush!!!
same here excellent second RB with game breaking speed and can also be our PR/KR

His current contract details :

Quote:
7/29/2006: Signed a six-year, $52.5 million contract. The deal contains $26.31 million guaranteed, including a $12.5 million option bonus in the second year and $9.5 million in incentives. 2009: $2.585 million (+ $4 million roster bonus), 2010: $8 million, 2011: $11.8 million, 2012: Free Agent. Cap charges: $12 million (2009), $13.5 million (2010).
where else would he go?

I stand corrected.
This would be a great pick up, we need that speed back, and I'm sure we can get him for 1.5-2mil a year.

I doubt it.....they won't release him. He'll either restructure or be traded to a team where he'd be required to restructure after the first year unless he rushes for over 1000 yards. His hand is going to be forced in all likelihood because he won't fetch 8 mill in base salary on the open market (though some team may pay him 3-5 mill in base).

His contract is what it is. He can't be forced to re-structure unless he wants to stay in New Orleans at their price . . . and I can't see any team trading for him while scheduled to make nearly $20 million over the next two years.

Unless he really loves being in New Orleans, I'd be shocked if he's not a street free agent this offseason.
