According to Jag fans on their forums, this guy sucks against speed rushers.

Well of course, it's Jaguar Talk...

I heard the Seahags are looking at him too.
He does have a problem with speed rushers, that is why he is a RT. He is a really, really good run blocker and for the most part he holds his own in pass protection. I remember watching him play at Illinois when he was a sophmore and he shut down All-American DE, Andre Carter and really made a name for himself in that game.
I hope we can sign this guy. Another year of Snyder/Simms would NOT be good!
he should sign with us
Just heard on 770 ESPN down here (South Florida) That the Dolphins, 49ers, Seahawks, Ravens, Saints and Browns are interested in signing Pashos. That is a lot of competition

The 49ers spent most of Sunday in pursuit of veteran free-agent offensive lineman Tony Pashos, whom the Jacksonville Jaguars released over the weekend.

Pashos, 29, who has started 47 games the last three seasons at right tackle, could give the 49ers depth on the offensive line. Barry Sims is the only backup tackle on the 49ers’ roster behind starters Joe Staley and Adam Snyder.

The Jaguars elected to release Pashos, a seventh-year player, rather than pay his scheduled $4.335 million salary for the upcoming season. Pashos played two seasons with Jacksonville after entering the league with the Baltimore Ravens as a fifth-round draft pick.

The 49ers are one of several teams negotiating with him. A source close to Pashos said the 49ers might offer the most attractive opportunity for playing time.

The 49ers scouted Pashos’ final exhibition game. Although Pashos (6-foot-6, 326 pounds) started and played the first half of the Jaguars’ game Thursday against Washington at right guard, the 49ers envision him as a backup right tackle.

Perhaps anticipating the signing of Pashos, the 49ers left one spot vacant on their practice squad Sunday. The 49ers signed seven players to their practice squad, including running back Kory Sheets, fullback Brit Miller, receiver Dominique Zeigler, and offensive tackle Alex Boone. If the 49ers sign Pashos, they would likely cut a player from the 53-man roster who has practice-squad eligibility.
^^^ that is true, we only have one backup at RT

and who wouldn't want to block for Frank Gore

We better roll out the red carpet for this guy. hes way better than sims, and if sims plays more than one-two games were probably screwed. pashos might even be an upgrade over sims. he might like playing in an offense where he will get to do a lot of run blockin to. he would solidify our oline and would make me feel a little better about this year. scotty/jed need to open the check book a little and offer the best dollar ammount and sing needs to phone in and work a bit of his magic.

yea we just need another guy for depth reasons we only have ONE backup, so he would help out alot and if he can play better than sims then thats a major plus.
