This is just a bad idea through and through.Originally posted by Mospeed:
Why would we sign a 39 year old QB who doesn't know our offense and drop one of our capable 25 or 22 year old QBs?
Because our 25-year-old hasn't proven capable.

According to John Clayton on Mike and Mike, the raiders cut him because he was to much a threat to Russel

The scary thing is, that he actually would come in and aside from the learning curve of getting to know the offense, he would easily be the best QB on our roster.
And he was cut by the Raiders.
A team without even a hint of a starting caliber QB. (Granted they make some of the dumbest moves in football, but still.)
It really says something about our QB situation. When a guy who can't win a job in Oakland would be an upgrade over what we have. And he would be.
All that being said, there is no way we do this unless Hill and/or Smith gets hurt and he's still available in a few weeks if that happened.

that's exactly why he was cut. The Raiders made that very clear. That they wanted a dude who was okay being the backup to their billion dollar man. And jeff want's to compete for the starting job. I say we sign his ass. Wouldn't hurt one thing!!!
