This isnt the NBA. A sign and trade would instantly accellerate his entire signing bonus onto this year's cap. Do you really want to take a 20 million dollar cap hit?

As a follow up question. Could denver sign Marshall to long term deal about the same as crabtree and the trade him to us as i mentioned. In this case then Denver would pay marshall's signing bonus and we woold pay crabtrees. Would this work and if not then why not?

It would take Crabtree and our 4th round pick for Marshall..
Denver has stated they want a #1 and a #4 for Marshall.. So the whole crabtree for marshall and a denver #1 is ludicris and out the window.

no...... unless he willing to sign a long term contract with us, if not just wait till after the season when he is a free agent if crabs re enters the draft.

He wont be a free agent absent an extension of the CBA
