Sign and trade ?

Would you sign WR-Crabtree and the trade him to Denver for WR-Marshall and Chicago's 2010 1st Round pick? (Denver traded their 2010 1st round pick to Seattle)

a) Anyone would be stupid not to make that trade considering that's a young Pro Bowl WR AND a first round pick, all for a first round pick who's value is already dropping due to reputation and excessive demands

b) Too bad it will never happen since you can't trade a pick that wasn't originally yours prior to the draft...
i would! crabtree is being a MAGGOT with a F! plus brandon marshall is proven! crab hasn't done s**t! not even run a 40, not even run a route, not even get padded up! so far he's been a maggot with a F in my book!

At this point if Sing and the GM can guarantee a Brandon Marshall of sound mind, and come to a reasonable agreement with Mr. Marshall laden with incentives and behavioural clauses then yes, I would make the deal straight up Crabtree for Marshall!

I just woke up went to take a piss and was thinking the exact same thing. Maybe it would work with a 2nd round pick instead of the 1st which for us would be better because signing 3 1st round picks would be rough on the cap. I say Marsall their 2nd and 3rd round picks and we give them Crabtree and a 4th this year and 6th next year. Fair for both sides?

i dont see that happening, i doubt Denver gives up a 1st and Marshall for an unproven player, who seems like he has a attitude problem.

Same with Crabs, 4th and 6th for Marshall, 2nd and 3rd, its too much for Denver to give up IMO.

Plus, not sure we could do that sign and trade, cap wise, not sure the big ramifications, dead money wise. Unless we put alot of roster and option bonuses in the deal.
i don't think denver would be interested at all. crabtree's reputation and value is dropping as the days go by. Nobody wants a diva on their team, other than Oakland and Dallas.

And aside from the obvious cap ramifications, I think Denver has had quite enough controversy for one season.

Why would you want a player who can't keep himself out of trouble. Catches 100 Balls. Says he's having trouble he doesn't know the new playbook and he wants out and wants more money, and just beat another charge which next year at this time will he be in jail for something else?

Or Crabtree first round pick wanting money not in his slotting, and is determined to wait until the niners offer the money he desires for clothes and car's and houses.
The only person we should trade for is Tavaris. If we could get him for a 3rd that would be a steal. He's better then anything we have on our roster. He had 200 yards and 2 TD's his last game (I don't care if it's pre-season).

If we signed Crabtree then traded him. We would have to pay the whole signing bonus this year. (well this year and next considering it's after July 1st.)

Then we would have to turn around and re-do Marshall's contract on top of that. Which means Denver would/could get away scott free from gauranteed money. While we'd be stuck with two.
why would they trade a pro bowler AND a first rounder. It would be crabtree and one of our picks maybe a third for Marshall. Not the other way around. Marshall is young and proven.
Marshall's attitude and off field issues have certainly hurt his trade value, but not to the extent they would trade him AND a first rounder for an unproven rookie WR looking for a huge payday. Why would they even want to trade for Crabs when he's looking for a huge rookie contract and could re-enter next year's draft? They could sit on their hands and probably draft him next year if they really wanted to...

Both Crabs and Marshall have hurt their trade values, so there is no way Denver makes that trade.
the only way it seems we'd get him to sign is by upping the guaranteed money. Meaning higher signing bonus and that would also mean that, that money will count against our cap. Why do u think NFL teams dont do sign and trades? The original team will still be responsible for that massive amount of money while the new team only pays the yearly salary.
So yeah, lets pay 16+ million dollars, the salary of another disgruntled WR, who is looking to cash in on a 2nd contract, all for what?? is a 1k yd receiver worth 40+ million dollars(i'm figuring that Marshall would want ~25mil guaranteed).
