The 49ers went after Warner, why didn't they contact Favre?

I'm very happy we didn't go after Favre. Don't want anything to do with that circus!

No offense to Favre, but the last thing Id want is the Niner tradition of great QBs tainted by a former Packer that just doesnt know when to quit.

No thanks to Favre, and no thanks to Warner.

cuz, if we have warner, that means the cardinals don't have warner.

The Niners weren't interested in Warner.

They were interested at driving up the price for him to screw over the cardinals.

The niners knew they had no shot at him.
Cause Niner's organization believes in Alex Smith!

Go Niners!
Do we want players on our team that are so old they once played against our head coach?

Honestly I usually ridicule fellow faithful who have a problem when we bring in players from bitter rivals (Tyler, Hacksaw, Norton, Bruce, etc.) but for Favre I can make an exception. Hillbilly Favre in a Niner Uni would be un-holy.
they didnt go for favre because he was not familiar with the system which is what he was wanting and he wanted to be on a team that has a chance of competeing for the game and the niners wouldnt give him a 2 year 25 million dollar contract like the vikings did
Warner>>>>>>>>>>Favre.

Amen to that.

If he is healthy, he is an instant upgrade and a proven veteran.

He is in no way shape or form an upgrade over Hill.. compare statistics man... compare winning %... compare the fact that we have 2 relatively unproven players which we need to get a look at before we sell the farm next year and draft another QB high.... Favre wouldn't do anything. The Vikings were that desperate for a QB and to sell more tickets...

Favre was never coming to San Francisco. He wants a shot at the Packers GM Ted Thompson, so he had a burning desire to be with the Vikes who are of course in the NFC North.
Gee, I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that Favre was pulling his usual "will I retire or won't I" crap while Warner clearly wanted to play again.

Favre also wanted to play for the Vikes because they are both contenders and in Green Bay's division. We are neither of those things.
