Keepers for an auction draft league... UPDATED: Rate my keeper team

I need to pick my keepers, and I'd like some feedback. My team sucked last season, so I started picking up waiver wire guys I thought might be worth hanging onto. So now I get to pick up to 4 keepers and there are some tough calls. These are the guys I'm looking at, and the price I'd have to pay to keep them (including the $5 escalator).

12 team league - NON PPR - 6 PT passing TDs - standard rosters - $200 auction draft

Jamaal Charles - RB - $66
Victor Cruz - WR - $28
Matt Stafford - QB - $21
Antonio Brown - WR - $12
Cecil Shorts - WR - $10
Rashad Jennings - RB - $6
Julius Thomas - TE - $6
Harry Douglas - WR - $6
Toby Gerhart - RB - $6
Ladarius Green - $6
Knile Davis - $6

Right now I'm leaning towards Brown, Thomas, Jennings and Gerhart. Seems like an insanely cheap way to get 4 potential stud players, and is by far the best value there. But after back to back terrible seasons I'm questioning my judgement... Am I crazy to give up Charles? Or Stafford for that price?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Alright, I'm beginning to think I should hang onto Charles. Looking around at other teams I think a few of the other top RBs will be kept. And the ones that aren't kept will probably go for even more money because a few teams will have more cash to spend by saving on keepers.

So if I keep Charles, which other player do let go? Leaning towards Jennings right now, even though I think he could really break out this year.

Does keeping Charles, Thomas, Brown and Gerhaet make sense/
I think I'd keep Charles as well, along with Thomas and Brown for sure.

For me, the choice is between Gerhart and Jennings. I think both of them will have great seasons, but I honestly think Jennings is going to be a top 10 RB this year, and I'd keep him over Gerhart. Even more now with David Wilson's career ending, I think Jennings will get his touches

Charles - Brown - Thomas - Jennings for me

Focus your draft on getting another elite WR, depth at RB and then get a value QB. You can get Cutler/Luck/Stafford for good value this year it seems
Thanks for the feedback, Phat.

Unfortunately, our league just voted and decided to go with 3 keepers instead of 4. So now I feel like this gets a lot trickier.

I agree that Charles, Thomas, and Brown are my best players, so I could keep it simple and go with them.

But I got hosed last year mainly because RB depth was so hard to get. So giving up 2 workhorse RBs that won't cost me anything really stings. There's a part of me that thinks I should just keep all the RBs and look to spend big on WR and TE.

Is that nuts?
Alright, the league voted to only have 3 keepers. So I decided to stick with value and kept Antonio Brown, Julius Thomas, and Toby Gerhart.

My draft strategy was supposed to be to hang back and NOT spend big on any players early so I could clean up in the later rounds. But that went out the window when I got caught up bidding on the two players I was willing to spend big on. But I didn't really have a good plan for what to do after that, and I ended up with some pretty crappy depth.

Here's what I ended up with:

QB - Aaron Rodgers
WR - Antonio Brown
WR - Andre Johnson
WR - TY Hilton
RB - Peterson
RB - Gerhart
TE - Julius Thomas
FLEX - Emanuel Sanders
D - Baltimore
K - Gostkowski
BN - Shonn Greene
BN - Rod Streeter
BN - Kenny Stills
BN - Malcom Floyd
BN - Cody Latimer
BN - Tre Mason

Not sure if I want to stick with those bench guys. I feel like Floyd, Mason, and Streeter could all be replaced with higher up side guys.

Any thoughts?
