Saints making a strong push to sign Anquan Boldin

Jul 14, 2016 at 2:30 PM--

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network is reporting that the New Orleans Saints are making the strongest push to sign former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Anquan Boldin.

Boldin reportedly loves former 49ers receivers coach John Morton, who is now in New Orleans. Morton was in San Francisco from 2011 through 2014. The 49ers acquired Boldin via a trade with the Baltimore Ravens in 2013.

Boldin, the reigning NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year award winner, has remained unsigned since becoming a free agent back in March. That month, he visited with the Washington Redskins, but remained unsigned. In June, Boldin visited with the Detroit Lions.

Boldin, who will be 36 years old in October, had 69 receptions for 789 yards and four touchdowns in 2015. That was the fewest receiving yards he has had since 2004 with the Arizona Cardinals, which was his second year in the league. Of course, those numbers were still enough to lead the 49ers in receiving. Boldin had surpassed 1,000 yards (1,062 in 2014 and 1,179 in 2013) in each of his previous two seasons with San Francisco and ranks 17th all-time in receiving yards with 13,195 and is 12th all-time in receptions with 1,009.

Should the 49ers re-sign RT Mike McGlinchey?

By Rohan Chakravarthi

The San Francisco 49ers are now focused on the offseason, with their season ending at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles in a 31-7 loss on Sunday in the NFC Championship Game. Which means it's time for personnel decisions, likely coaching staff departures, and of course, quarterback talk. But, one of the biggest questions that the 49ers face come with free agent right tackle Mike McGlinchey, who is likely to earn the most money of any San Francisco free agent in 2022. McGlinchey has faced his ups and downs as a 49er, but has been a valuable run-defender, and the starting right tackle for the past five seasons. However, he is likely to command a hefty salary on the open market, and could look for a fresh opportunity after the amount of

Should the 49ers sign QB Tom Brady this offseason?

The San Francisco 49ers are officially in offseason mode after their 31-7 NFC Championship loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, and enter it with unfortunate news, as quarterback Brock Purdy suffered a torn UCL, which will keep him out for at least six months, pending on a choice for surgery. That leaves the 49ers with quarterback Trey Lance as their current top quarterback option heading into the offseason, who is progressing through his recovery from a torn ACL. However, there is another domino that must be addressed: the free agency of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who has long been connected to the San Francisco 49ers, given the hometown connection. With the dots potentially aligning, should the 49ers sign Brady to a
