49ers show off 70th anniversary patch

The San Francisco 49ers' 70th anniversary is this upcoming season and the team released a video that shows off an anniversary patch that will be worn on the players' jerseys. You can watch it below.


The team has worn anniversary patches before. The last was in 2006 when the 49ers were celebrating their 60th anniversary. You can see what all of the anniversary patches look like on our logo history page.

"We are thrilled to celebrate the San Francisco 49ers 70th anniversary and the many special moments that make up the history of this storied franchise," said 49ers COO Ethan Casson. "The unveiling of this commemorative logo is the first of several steps in our year-long celebration of seven decades of 49ers football. 49ers show frustration and concern with MetLife Stadium turf after injury-filled afternoon

The last thing the San Francisco 49ers want right now is to play another game on the turf at MetLife Stadium after what they went through Sunday afternoon, but that's exactly what they'll have to do next week when they come back there to face the New York Giants. 49ers waive OL Ross Reynolds off injured reserve with a settlement

The San Francisco 49ers waived offensive lineman Ross Reynolds with an injury settlement, according to NBC Sports Bay Area. He was part of the 49ers' roster cut-down before the season, but because he was injured, the offensive lineman reverted back to injured reserve after going unclaimed. 49ers D-linemen Nick Bosa, Solomon Thomas carted off with injuries vs. Jets

The seemingly neverending injury news got worse in a hurry for the San Francisco 49ers against the New York Jets on Sunday as defensive linemen Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas were carted off the field in the first quarter due to a knee injury. Bosa went down with the injury after a first down run from Jets running back Frank Gore. Bosa was visibly in pain on the turf before trainers carted him to the locker room.
