49ers show off 70th anniversary patch

The San Francisco 49ers' 70th anniversary is this upcoming season and the team released a video that shows off an anniversary patch that will be worn on the players' jerseys. You can watch it below.


The team has worn anniversary patches before. The last was in 2006 when the 49ers were celebrating their 60th anniversary. You can see what all of the anniversary patches look like on our logo history page.

"The unveiling of this commemorative logo is the first of several steps in our year-long celebration of seven decades of 49ers football. John Lynch optimistic that 3 games off will give 49ers a George Kittle 'at full strength'

San Francisco 49ers general manger John Lynch joined KNBR today and provided a bit of an update on the team's injured tight end, George Kittle. There had been hope that Kittle might be available for this past weekend's game against the Arizona Cardinals. However, the 49ers ended up putting their star tight end on injured reserve the day before kickoff. That means Kittle will have to miss three games. The first was this past Sunday's game. He will also have to sit out the matchups against the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears. Kittle will be eligible to return on November 7 when the 49ers host the Arizona Cardinals. Despite being listed as "questionable" for the game, per multiple reports, Kittle is expected to be on the field at Levi's Stadium this afternoon when the Niners host the Seattle Seahawks. The San Francisco 49ers have released the list of inactive players for their Week 4 matchup at home against the Seattle Seahawks. These players will not suit up for Sunday's game.
