The San Francisco 49ers' 70th anniversary is this upcoming season and the team released a video that shows off an anniversary patch that will be worn on the players' jerseys. You can watch it below.

The team has worn anniversary patches before. The last was in 2006 when the 49ers were celebrating their 60th anniversary. You can see what all of the anniversary patches look like on our logo history page.

"We are thrilled to celebrate the San Francisco 49ers 70th anniversary and the many special moments that make up the history of this storied franchise," said 49ers COO Ethan Casson. "The unveiling of this commemorative logo is the first of several steps in our year-long celebration of seven decades of 49ers football. We greatly appreciate our Faithful fans for their enduring support throughout the years and look forward to making more great memories with them in 2016."

"Fred brings the type of leadership and energy every day that our defense and team feeds off. He earned this extension through hard work, discipline, and the professional way he goes about his business. We look forward to watching him continue to play at an

Maybe that will be further motivation for the 24-year-old linebacker, who has many years in front of him. "The All-Pro has become one of the league's most disruptive players as an

How well do the 2021 49ers stack up to the 2019 team? Lately I have listened to some podcasts and read some tweets comparing the current San Francisco 49ers team (2021) to the 2019 team that fell just short of winning the Super Bowl. I find the comparison interesting. And since many people quickly assume the 2021 49ers are not as good as the 2019 team, I wanted to take a look for myself. So as we prepare for the team to report on Tuesday, let's compare the two teams, position by position. For the purpose of this very scientific experiment, we will assume everyone is healthy (even though that never happens). Let's start on offense. The defensive comparison is coming soon.
