By Kirk Larrabee
Nov 27

It was a strange week for the San Francisco 49ers, who had to work through an unusual schedule that saw them arrive home from their Monday night game in Mexico City in the early morning hours on Tuesday, followed by Thanksgiving on Thursday. Still, they managed to work through it and prepare themselves to play against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, and in the end they came out on top with a 13-0 win. How did the 49ers work through that schedule? We'll look at that in this version of 49ers Notebook, along with some postgame thoughts from head coach Kyle Shanahan on the running back situation, a look at an impressive streak the 49ers snapped on Sunday, and much more. The 49ers' Defense is Becoming Elite Again: 5 Observations about Saints-49ers

By JD Salazar

He told Pro Football Talk that he picked the Eagles because he sought another championship. Suh had another option, though, admitting that he could have signed with the San Francisco 49ers. "Suh told PFT by phone after Sunday's 17-16 win over the Colts in his debut with the Eagles that his decision came down to Philadelphia and San Francisco," wrote Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. "Suh said that he was attracted to the 49ers because of the presence of defensive line coach Kris

49ers' Psych Ward ready for the Cardinals' challenge

By Wayne P. Brown

This week against the Arizona Cardinals could be interesting for the San Francisco 49ers secondary. In the off-season, I remember creating a name for two of the 49ers' defensive backs—Jimmie Ward and Charvarius "Mooney" Ward. I called these two to the Psych Ward, and this week against the Arizona Cardinals, they may receive their first patient. Before the season began, safety Jimmie Ward went on the injured reserve due to a hamstring injury. Since his return, the nine-year veteran has been asked to play in the 49ers' nickel back position after starting outside corner Emmanuel Moseley was lost for the season to an ACL tear, and starting nickel corner Deommodore Lenoir was moved outside to replace Moseley. Ward has been targeted 16 times by opposing quarterbacks, allowing
