Ahmad Brooks returns to practice for 49ers

Oct 15, 2015 at 2:53 PM--

According to several beat writers, San Francisco 49ers LB Ahmad Brooks returned practice today. This means that it is highly likely that he will play against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Brooks missed the 49ers' last game, a 30-27 road loss to the New York Giants, to be with his family following the death of his sister. Funeral services were held this week.

RB Carlos Hyde was on hand for warm-ups prior to team practice. However, he went into the weight room once team practice started. His injury – a sore foot – is not believed to be serious and he is also likely to play on Sunday.

Kickoff for Sunday's game is at 1:25 PM.

As expected, quarterback Trey Lance is rejoining his San Francisco 49ers teammates today during practice, said head coach Kyle Shanahan. However, the rookie passer will be limited as he continues to recover from the knee sprain that left him inactive for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. "We're going to put him in a couple of reps there on scout team and see how he feels moving around and stuff," Shanahan said. "See how he does in individual [drills], and see how it goes that way. Then, if it feels alright and no soreness after practice, we'll pick it up tomorrow." Lance suffered the injury during Week 5's loss against the Arizona Cardinals, a game the 21-year-old quarterback started in place of an injured Jimmy Garoppolo. Lance completed 15 of 29

49ers sign CB Davontae Harris to the practice squad

By David Bonilla
Oct 14

On Tuesday, the San Francisco 49ers waived cornerback Davontae Harris, a day after activating the defender from injured reserve. Today, the team announced that it signed Harris to the practice squad. San Francisco initially claimed Harris (5-11, 200) off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens on August 17. He landed on injured reserve on September 1 due to a hamstring injury. The 26-year-old cornerback has recorded 50 tackles, four passes defensed, and a forced fumble through his three NFL seasons. In addition to the 49ers and Ravens (2020), the fourth-year player spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals, the team that made him a fifth-round draft pick out of Illinois State in 2018, and the Denver Broncos
