Roethlisberger is 14 of 19 for 252 yards and two touchdowns so far. The Steelers are routing the 49ers with a 29-3 lead at the half.

The 49ers offensive line been unable to provide good protection for QB Colin Kaepernick. He is only 11 of 15 for 61 yards, no touchdowns, and has been sacked three times.

RB Carlos Hyde, who had 168 rushing yards and two touchdowns last week against the Minnesota Vikings, has 40 yards on 12 carries.

Kyle Shanahan, John Lynch describe the 49ers locker room at halftime vs. Lions

By David Bonilla
Jun 10

The San Francisco 49ers trailed the Detroit Lions by 17 points at halftime in last season's NFC Championship Game. To many, it looked like their quest for a trip to the Super Bowl was over. However, the mentality inside the 49ers locker room was different. While there weren't discussions about mounting a comeback, one thing was clear: the team was embarrassed. "I was so angry, I couldn't think about winning or losing," head coach Kyle Shanahan shared at the 49ers' "State of the Franchise" event. "That wasn't the thing. It was like, 'Guys, if we're going out, we're not going out like this. When we come out, hey, we're gonna make this a problem.'" The 17-point deficit wasn't the focus.

However, Houshmandzadeh acknowledges that Aiyuk should not expect to earn anything near that range. This deal is unlikely to impact Aiyuk's contract negotiations. It's just a

Brock Purdy's last full offseason came as a rookie in 2022. However, calling it a "full offseason" is misleading. He was buried on the San Francisco 49ers' depth chart, limiting his practice reps. Despite this, Purdy showed enough promise to earn a spot on the 53-man roster. Just months later, he took over the starting quarterback job and hasn't relinquished it since. Last offseason was crucial for Purdy's development. Unfortunately, he was recovering from surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow. Purdy didn't get to throw to teammates until training camp, leaving some uncertainty about his effectiveness following such a significant injury. Purdy finished last season with a single-season franchise-record 4,280 passing yards,
