The first wave of free agency has come and gone, and the 49ers have had to say goodbye to a number of familiar faces while welcoming a few new ones. There's been a good amount of shuffling over the past week, but one thing remains clear -- the 49ers still have one of the best rosters in the NFL. There's still more players to be added in the weeks ahead, both in the draft and in free agency. The 49ers still need depth and competition in a few areas, and maybe a new starter in a key spot on special teams. But with the way things look now, the 49ers could be looking at a fairly complete roster with very few weaknesses once they're done with their offseason moves. 49ers considered trading Mike McGlinchey last year

Mike McGlinchey received a life-changing payday, signing a five-year, $87.5 million deal with the Denver Broncos. The offensive tackle has known for a while that he would not return to the San Francisco 49ers, the only NFL team he has played for and the one that made him the No. 9 overall pick in 2018. General manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan made it clear to McGlinchey that he was likely playing his final months for the team. There was too much money invested in other spots, and the 49ers knew they couldn't compete with other interested teams. Details emerge on DE Clelin Ferrell's $2.5 million contract with 49ers

On Wednesday, the San Francisco 49ers agreed to terms on a one-year deal with former Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Clelin Ferrell. Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 provided the details of the contract. Ferrell's one-year deal is worth up to $2.5 million, with $1.82 million guaranteed and a $660,000 signing bonus. He will earn a $1.16 million base salary and a $40,000 per game active roster bonus.
