ESPN Insider Adam Schefter is reporting that former Oakland Raiders interim head coach Tony Sparano is being hired as the San Francisco 49ers' tight end coach.
Sparano had been with the Raiders since 2013. He was hired by Oakland as an assistant head coach and offensive line coach. After starting the 2014 season 0-4, the Raiders fired head coach Dennis Allen and named Sparano the interim head coach.
Sparano was the head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 2008–2011.
