49ers sign three to practice squad

According to 49ers.com, the team signed the final three members of its eight-man practice squad.

The players that signed were DT Damane Duckett, LB Jeremy Mincey and WR Cory Rodgers.

Duckett (6-6, 300) originally signed with Carolina as a rookie free agent out of East Carolina in 2004. He spent part of his rookie season on the Carolina practice squad before joining the New York Giants 53-man roster. Last season he played in eight games as a reserve with the Giants. He was waived by the Giants on the final cutdown.

Mincey (6-3, 260) was originally a sixth-round draft pick by the New England Patriots out of Florida in 2006.

Rodgers (6-0, 186) was originally a fourth-round draft pick by the Green Bay Packers out of Texas Christian in 2006.

49ers sign CB Davontae Harris to the practice squad

On Tuesday, the San Francisco 49ers waived cornerback Davontae Harris, a day after activating the defender from injured reserve. Today, the team announced that it signed Harris to the practice squad. San Francisco initially claimed Harris (5-11, 200) off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens on August 17. He landed on injured reserve on September 1 due to a hamstring injury. The 26-year-old cornerback has recorded 50 tackles, four passes defensed, and a forced fumble through his three NFL seasons. The San Francisco 49ers announced the following roster moves as the team prepares for its Week 8 road matchup against the Chicago Bears. S Tony Jefferson signed to the practice squad DE Jordan Willis activated from the reserve/suspended list Jefferson spent part of the offseason with the 49ers but landed on injured reserve on August 12 due to a hamstring injury. He was released with an injury settlement on August 23. Jefferson, 29, has not played since Week 5 of the 2019 season when he suffered a torn ACL. 49ers starting safety Jaquiski Tartt exited Sunday's game with a knee injury.
