According to 49ers.com, the San Francisco 49ers have signed Houston Texans fullback Moran Norris.

Entering his sixth season in the NFL, Norris has spent the past 4 seasons with the Texans. Norris was a fourth-round draft choice out of Kansas in 2001 and was selected by the New Orleans Saints. Last season, Norris played in all 16 games with five starts. He had one reception for four yards. He has only carried the football once in his career and has caught the ball 12 times for 57 yards.

Norris' contributions over his career have mainly come on special teams.

49ers sign former Eagles QB Nate Sudfeld to a one-year deal

The San Francisco 49ers announced that the team has signed former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nate Sudfeld to a one-year deal. The Washington Football Team made Sudfeld a sixth-round selection out of Indiana in 2016. He signed with the Eagles practice squad before the 2017 season. Sudfeld completed five-of-12 attempts (41.7 percent) for 32 yards and an interception in one game with the Eagles last season, per NFL.com. San Francisco now has four quarterbacks on its roster. They are Jimmy Garoppolo, Josh Rosen, Josh Johnson, and now Sudfeld. The team is expected to draft a quarterback with the No. 3 overall pick, which they acquired on March 26 via a trade with the Miami Dolphins. Sudfeld, 27, has completed 67.6 percent of his passes for 188 yards

NBC Sports' Peter King weighed in on Jimmy Garoppolo, his status with the San Francisco 49ers, and his potential future with the New England Patriots, the team the quarterback spent his first three-and-a-half NFL seasons with. First, the 49ers. Count King among those who aren't confident that San Francisco will trade Garoppolo this year. The team has publicly stated that it plans to enter Week 1 with Garoppolo as the starter. Nothing the 49ers do at No. 3 may change that. Mac Jones to the San Francisco 49ers is a done deal, right? That's what every analyst and evaluator would have you believe. Much of that originated from NBC Sports analyst Chris Simms, a close friend of head coach Kyle Shanahan, stating that he believes the 49ers traded up to the No. 3 spot to draft Jones. Shanahan debunked that last week. Not the idea that Jones might be the pick, but that Simms might have some insight into the team's plans. "Trust me, Chris talks about everything," Shanahan said. "Therefore, I haven't been able to talk to him in a couple of years.
