This has been a mess of an offseason for the Houston Texans. Team representatives repeatedly stated that they have no intention of trading disgruntled quarterback Deshaun Watson. Watson has stated that he has no desire to play for Houston anymore. Texans brass has even reportedly ignored calls from interested teams. Was that all a ploy, though? John McCain of the Houston Chronicle believes so. Of course, everything changed when legal issues caused Watson's trade value to plummet, and Houston lost any advantage it might have had in trade discussions. Watson is currently facing 22 civil suits accusing him of sexual harassment and assault, along with an NFL investigation. The San Francisco 49ers were reportedly interested in Watson—before the

But he does have a personal preference for that pick, along with some thoughts on what factors the 49ers have been weighing throughout the decision-making process. Warner was a guest on The Rich Eisen Show Friday, days before he and the NFL Network will head to Cleveland, Ohio for this year's NFL Draft. Warner took several minutes to discuss what could happen at pick three, saying he believes the 49ers' decision could come down to what direction they'd like to take from current starter Jimmy Garoppolo. In particular, Warner thinks Alabama

49ers fans won't find out for sure who their team will be taking at pick three in the 2021 NFL Draft until just after the first round begins on 5 p.m. PT on Thursday. Regardless, NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport believes there is currently a frontrunner for the distinction and that many around the league would be surprised if that frontrunner doesn't turn out to be former Alabama quarterback Mac Jones. Rapoport spoke recently about what he's hearing regarding pick three with 49ers senior reporter Keiana Martin. Among the tidbits he shared was his belief that a frontrunner exists and that the team would like to make sure everyone in the building is happy with the pick before making the final call. "My understanding was there was a leader in the clubhouse and this
