49ers sign Texans FB Moran Norris

According to 49ers.com, the San Francisco 49ers have signed Houston Texans fullback Moran Norris.

Entering his sixth season in the NFL, Norris has spent the past 4 seasons with the Texans. Norris was a fourth-round draft choice out of Kansas in 2001 and was selected by the New Orleans Saints. Last season, Norris played in all 16 games with five starts. He had one reception for four yards. He has only carried the football once in his career and has caught the ball 12 times for 57 yards.

Norris' contributions over his career have mainly come on special teams.

According to the NFL transaction wire, the San Francisco 49ers have placed practice squad defensive tackle Darrion Daniels on injured reserve. He suffered an injury on Wednesday. "He hurt himself dancing during warmups at practice Wednesday," wrote David Lombardi of The Athletic. The Niners signed defensive end Chris Slayton, 25, to take Daniels' spot on the practice squad. The New York Giants made Slayton (6-4, 307) a seventh-round selection out of Syracuse in 2019. He also spent time with the Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons, and Pittsburgh Steelers. As the 2021 season reaches the halfway point, one thing is for sure: there is still a lot of football left. Even with the San Francisco 49ers sitting at 3-5, they still (thanks to an underperforming NFC) have a legitimate shot at getting to the playoffs this year. The San Francisco 49ers have made the following roster moves ahead of tonight's Week 10 home game against the Los Angeles Rams. WR Mohamed Sanu and S Tavon Wilson have been placed on injured reserve S Tony Jefferson has been activated from the practice squad The 49ers already ruled Sanu and Wilson out for Week 10.
