49ers frustrations lead to Trent Williams scuffle vs. Eagles
By Rohan Chakravarthi
Jan 29
The San Francisco 49ers lost in crushing fashion to the Philadelphia Eagles in a 31-7 game, going home in the NFC Championship Game for the second consecutive season.
The game ended on an ugly note, as left tackle Trent Williams was ejected for throwing punches late in the 4th quarter.
Following the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan understood the frustrations that Williams had, given the physicality between the teams.
"You got two physical teams. Guys playing hard and I know we were frustrated at the end," said Shanahan. "Guys wanted to fight [and] wanted to play and it was a frustrating game for us."
While tight end George Kittle wasn't involved in the melee, he was seen trying to break up the fight, as he didn't want his teammates fined

49ers 'starving' for Super Bowl win, say George Kittle and Trent Williams

The San Francisco 49ers held a light practice on Wednesday. According to tight end George Kittle, you probably couldn't tell by how he and his teammates were flying around. One more win sets the stage. During the 2019 season, the 49ers just missed their opportunity to earn the franchise's sixth Lombardi trophy. Here they are again, on the doorstep of another chance to redeem that heartbreaking loss.
"It's what you dreamt about since you were a kid," Kittle told reporters on Thursday. "You dream about it when you're in high school and college. You dream about it when you're in the

Trent Williams knows the San Francisco 49ers roster has the talent to bounce back from Sunday's disappointing loss in the NFC Championship Game and have another impressive season in 2023. Will he be a part of it, though?
Williams has been in the league since 2010, when Washington made him the No. 4 overall pick in the draft. The 49ers traded for him in 2020. He has twice been named a first-team All-Pro, is a 10-time Pro Bowl selection, and will be a first-ballot Hall of Fame offensive lineman, when that time comes.
Could that be in five years, assuming he retires now? Has Williams, the best offensive lineman in the NFL, contemplated calling it a career?
"I mean, it's a long

A number of players spoke with reporters before leaving team facilities, and as is always the case on departure day, there were quite a few topics of interest that were discussed.
We've got a rundown of some those topics in this version of 49ers Notebook. Among the things we'll dive into here are what Brock Purdy said regarding his case to start at quarterback in 2023, as well as what defensive end Nick Bosa said about his offseason and if it will include watching the Super Bowl. In addition, we'll hear from offensive linemen and free agents-to-be Mike McGlinchey and
