Healthy Brock Purdy ignites the 49ers offense ahead of Seahawks showdown

Brock Purdy's return from a turf toe injury has reignited the San Francisco 49ers offense, which has been one of the NFL's hottest units in recent weeks. Over the past three games, the 49ers have racked up 1,366 total yards. During that span, Purdy has completed 74.2% of his passes for 893 yards, 11 touchdowns, and two interceptions, posting a 131.5 passer rating while adding two rushing scores.

The 49ers aim to carry that momentum into the postseason. First, they'll look to finish strong in the regular season. A win over the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday night at Levi's Stadium would secure the NFC West title and home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.

Right now, San Francisco may have the league's most efficient quarterback—and its most explosive offense.

Speaking with NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco, 49ers general manager John Lynch credited the renewed offensive spark to both an improving run game, which is finally producing some explosive plays, and Purdy's elevated production.

"I think Brock is playing with great decisiveness," Lynch said.

Purdy's poise was on full display this past weekend against the Chicago Bears. After an opening-drive pick-six put the 49ers down 7-0, Purdy and the offense responded with resilience, eventually powering San Francisco to a 42-38 victory.

"Undeterred, he just kept going, and running our offense," Lynch said, "and we saw Brock continue to function at a really high level. As his health has come back to him, you're seeing the ability to move around."

Lynch pointed to Purdy's touchdown pass to fullback Kyle Juszczyk as a prime example of that regained mobility, confidence, and play-making ability.

"I think I wrote in my notes, 'An unreal play,'" Lynch added. "I'm not sure it needed to be unreal, but it sure was. And that's what Brock gives you—that element."

As for what comes next, Lynch expects a significant test in Week 18 when the 49ers face Seattle with the NFC's top seed on the line.

"This is a really good defensive front, a great defense," Lynch said. "They do everything well, and so, we've got a huge challenge."
