According to Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda, the San Francisco 49ers are among the teams intrigued by UCLA edge rusher Oluwafemi Oladejo, who is steadily climbing NFL draft boards.
"I've been told the San Francisco 49ers, a team that needs an edge rusher, is very high on Oladejo," Pauline reported on Wednesday. "Though still early, you have to believe he's a player they would target in the second round."
While Oladejo is among the prospects invited to this week's NFL Scouting Combine, there have been no confirmed reports of him formally meeting with the 49ers in Indianapolis as of this posting.
Oladejo began his college career at California before transferring to UCLA, where he spent the past two seasons. During the past two seasons with the Bruins, he amassed 111 tackles (17 for a loss), five sacks (4.5 of which came in 2024), an interception, and five passes defensed.
In 2024, Oladejo earned a 73.8 defensive grade from Pro Football Focus and recorded 33 pressures.
"Even before the testing has begun, teams have been raving about Oladejo's interviews, which have gone spectacularly well," Pauline noted. "Teams also love the fact that he's a quick-twitch athlete who has continually improved his game and looked like a natural last year moving from inside linebacker to outside linebacker/edge rusher."
If the 49ers use the No. 11 overall pick on an offensive lineman, they could target an edge rusher with their next selection.
