On Friday, the San Francisco 49ers designated linebacker Oren Burks as "questionable" for the NFC Championship Game against the Detroit Lions. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Burks is not expected to play.

When questioned about the nature of Burks' injury, head coach Kyle Shanahan explained, "Burks had a collision yesterday (in practice). So, he's got a shoulder [injury]."
Contradicting Schefter's report is Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, who notes that the 49ers worked out Burks ahead of the game, and there is a "decent chance" the linebacker will be cleared to play.
The 49ers worked out Oren Burks (shoulder) in pads a few minutes ago. Looks like a decent chance he's up for this game.

The only other player listed as "questionable" on Friday was defensive tackle Kalia Davis, who remains on the injured reserve list due to a high-ankle sprain sustained in December. On Saturday, the 49ers downgraded Davis, officially ruling him out of this weekend's crucial contest.
The 49ers and Lions are scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. PT at Levi's Stadium.
