The Washington Commanders have reportedly narrowed their search to two candidates for a President of Football Operations. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports the finalists are San Francisco 49ers assistant general manager Adam Peters and Chicago Bears assistant general manager Ian Cunningham.
"Two of the top young personnel minds," wrote Rapoport.

Additionally, the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders have reportedly expressed interest in speaking with Peters. The 49ers executive has been highly sought after each of the past three offseasons. Last year, Peters declined interview requests from the Tennessee Titans and Arizona Cardinals, choosing to remain in Santa Clara.
I'm told that #49ers assistant general manager Adam Peters' interview with the #Commanders a couple of days ago was 'long' and 'went into the evening,' per source.

Peters joined the 49ers in 2017 when John Lynch was hired as the general manager and has been Lynch's right-hand man since. Initially serving as VP of Player Personnel for his first four years with the team, Peters was promoted to assistant general manager in 2021.
In his 21st NFL season, Peters brings a wealth of experience, having previously worked in various roles with the Denver Broncos (2009-16) and New England Patriots (2003-08) before joining the 49ers.
