San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan provided injury updates via a conference call on Monday, the day after the team's 42-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Guard Aaron Banks is day-to-day with a mild shoulder strain, avoiding a more serious injury. That's certainly good news for the 49ers' offensive line.
"Any time it's the bicep, we were obviously nervous about it," Shanahan said, admitting that the result was a significant relief. "It's still an injury, but not as bad as it could have been."
Banks exited Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys at the start of the third quarter due to a biceps injury. He was listed as "questionable" to return, with Jon Feliciano replacing him in the lineup.
Immediately after the game, Shanahan expressed optimism that the injury was not season-ending. However, the 49ers awaited more tests. Those tests produced positive news for the team.
Second-year defensive end Drake Jackson collided with teammate Nick Bosa late in the first half of Sunday's game. He was on the sideline for a bit.
"He got the wind knocked out of him," Shanahan revealed.
Shanahan added that running back Elijah Mitchell, inactive in the last two games due to a knee injury, continues to be day-to-day.
