49ers tight end George Kittle worked up a quick rapport with quarterback Brock Purdy last season, as the duo connected on seven touchdowns in the final four games of the regular season.

In two games so far this year, Kittle (six catches, 49 yards) has taken a backseat in the passing game to players like Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel. Still, he's impressed Al Sacco and Brian Renick of the 49ers Webzone "No Huddle" podcast from Audacy Sports with his series of pulverizing blocks.

"He's gone sort of in the background and he doesn't complain," Sacco said. "He catches his few balls, he blocks, he lets Aiyuk and Deebo and McCaffrey (catch passes) and he's a good teammate. He does what the team asks him to do and he's a leader. That's really cool, man. He's gonna go down as an all-time 49er and when you have someone who's a star who's willing to do that, take a backseat for the betterment of the team, you don't see that alot. There's a lot of 'Get me the damn ball,' especially with receivers and he's not doing that. Still one of the better tight ends out there."

George Kittle says Brock Purdy lifts 49ers offense; Eager for Eagles game

By David Bonilla

Tight end George Kittle values the presence of Brock Purdy in the San Francisco 49ers' huddle. The quarterback has played efficiently, contributing to the team's three consecutive wins following a costly October slump. Purdy is on track to become the first 49ers quarterback to surpass 4,000 passing yards since Jeff Garcia did so in 2000. In fact, his projected 4,437 yards would set a franchise record. "I think I can speak for everybody on our offense, we're continually impressed with the things that Brock does all the time," Kittle told Jim Rome on Tuesday. "His consistency every single day, the relationship that he's built with all of our skilled players, all the guys that he gets the ball to, it's pretty amazing. And we all feel that [comfort] with
