With his second catch on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, tight end
George Kittle reached 400 career receptions. It took him 84 games to achieve the milestone, the fewest by a member of the 49ers and the fourth-fewest by an NFL tight end since at least 1970.
Only NFL tight ends Kellen Winslow, Travis Kelce, and Jimmy Graham reached the mark in fewer games.
San Francisco made Kittle (6-4, 250) a fifth-round selection (No. 146 overall) out of Iowa in 2017. Entering Sunday's contest, the 29-year-old tight end had 398 receptions for 5,273 yards and 31 touchdowns in 83 game appearances (75 starts), per
Pro Football Reference.
Kittle was named a first-team All-Pro in 2019 and is a four-time Pro Bowl selection.

Eagles win sets stage for crucial Week 13 showdown with 49ers
The Philadelphia Eagles have now secured five consecutive victories, with their latest being a 37-34 overtime win on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. The win elevates Philadelphia's record to 10-1, setting the stage for a crucial Week 13 showdown against the San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers will enter the NFC Championship Game rematch with an 8-3 record, trailing the top-seeded Eagles by two games in the NFC playoff picture.
A 49ers victory at Lincoln Financial Field would improve their record to 9-3 and drop the Eagles to 10-2. While San Francisco would still be one game behind Philadelphia in the race for home-field advantage, it would now possess the all-important head-to-head tiebreaker.
The Eagles would still maintain control, but Kyle Shanahan's
George Kittle says Brock Purdy lifts 49ers offense; Eager for Eagles game
Tight end George Kittle values the presence of Brock Purdy in the San Francisco 49ers' huddle. The quarterback has played efficiently, contributing to the team's three consecutive wins following a costly October slump.
Purdy is on track to become the first 49ers quarterback to surpass 4,000 passing yards since Jeff Garcia did so in 2000. In fact, his projected 4,437 yards would set a franchise record.
"I think I can speak for everybody on our offense, we're continually impressed with the things that Brock does all the time," Kittle told Jim Rome on Tuesday. "His consistency every single day, the relationship that he's built with all of our skilled players, all the guys that he gets the ball to, it's pretty amazing. And we all feel that [comfort] with
49ers activate Robert Beal Jr., place George Odum on IR ahead of Eagles game
The San Francisco 49ers announced that rookie defensive lineman Robert Beal Jr. has been activated from the injured reserve list. The team placed safety George Odum on the injured reserve list to make room on the roster.
Odum (6-1, 202) appeared in all 11 of the team's games and registered a team-high 10 tackles on special teams. He suffered a torn biceps injury during the 49ers' Week 12 win over the Seattle Seahawks.
In April, San Francisco drafted Beal in the fifth round (173rd overall). On August 30, he was placed on the injured reserve list with a hamstring injury. Beal was the last of three 49ers players waiting to be activated after their
