The San Francisco 49ers were able to get out of Week 1 nearly injury-free, as cornerback Ambry Thomas was cleared of a concussion, which was the lone listed injury following the game for head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Unfortunately, the first injury of the game for the 49ers in Week 2 has arrived, as cornerback Ambry Thomas is questionable to return with a knee injury.

Thomas had started the game at outside cornerback, but was replaced by veteran Isaiah Oliver, who moved inside, placing Deommodore Lenoir on the outside to start the defense's second drive.

Earlier in the game, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk momentarily entered the injury tent with a shoulder injury, but returned to the game during San Francisco's second drive.

Aiyuk did look a little shaken up following an incompletion that forced a field goal opportunity in the redzone during the second drive, but was seen with his helmet on ready for the 49ers ahead of their third drive.

Stay tuned for other injury updates!

Ambry Thomas showing 49ers there's "not that many out there better than me"

The San Francisco 49ers' defense delivered an impressive performance in Sunday's 42-19 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite reportedly exploring options for another starting-caliber cornerback before the October trade deadline, the team ultimately stuck with Charvarius Ward and Ambry Thomas on the outside. Thomas playing outside has allowed Deommodore Lenoir to move to the slot corner spot. Defensive coordinator Steve Wilks seems to have found a recipe for success. Thomas has been impressive in recent weeks, earning his highest-ever overall Pro Football Focus grade (90.2) on Thanksgiving night against the Seattle Seahawks. We'll have to wait until Monday morning to learn how his performance against the Eagles compares, but it's evident that Thomas is

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 13 contest against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Arik Armstead returned to practice after sitting out this week's earlier sessions with a foot injury. While he is listed as "questionable," the defensive tackle insists he will be suited up on Sunday in Philadelphia. "I'll be out there," Armstead responded this week when asked about his game status. Running back Jordan Mason and wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud also practiced for the first time this week. Mason has been dealing with a hamstring injury, while McCloud has been sidelined with a rib injury. Both are listed as "questionable" for this weekend. Below are the official

49ers vs. Eagles: Brock Purdy prepares for return to Philadelphia

By David Bonilla
Nov 30

Showers are in the forecast for Sunday's matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. However, this won't alter Kyle Shanahan's approach to preparing his team for the potential wet conditions. In fact, the 49ers head coach has expressed significant confidence in Brock Purdy's ability to play quarterback in less-than-ideal weather. "A wet ball makes it harder on everybody," Shanahan told reporters on Wednesday. "I've had some guys who really struggle in the rain. I've been through some situations with Brock, not just the game, but practice. But I think he's as good as any quarterback I've had in the rain. He's dealt with it a lot at Iowa State." Speaking to reporters before Thursday's practice, Purdy said he might

49ers injury updates: Two banged up against Eagles

By David Bonilla
Dec 3

The San Francisco 49ers appear to have emerged from Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles in relatively good health. However, they were not entirely unscathed. Head coach Kyle Shanahan, speaking to reporters after the dominant 42-19 win, provided injury updates. "[DT Arik] Armstead had a foot, didn't return," Shanahan said. "[TE Ross] Dwelley had ankle, didn't return." After practicing just once last week, the defensive tackle entered Week 13 listed as "questionable" for the clash against the Eagles. However, he was not among the 49ers' seven inactive players and
