Day 8 of the San Francisco 49ers training camp is officially over, as it was the longest practice that the team ran, consisting of 13 periods, rather than the usual 12, with the final session lasting nearly 23 minutes in a heavy scrimmage day.

The offense and defense each had their moments, as the quarterbacks compiled a second consecutive day of good collective performances, while the defensive line rebounded with a number of pressures and at least five sacks.

49ers Top DBs

The 49ers' top defensive backs, Charvarius Ward, Deommodore Lenoir, Talanoa Hufanga, and Tashaun Gipson, all did a certain drill together for the first time on Friday, working individually while the rest of the group repped special teams.

49ers LBs

Linebackers coach Johnny Holland was filmed coaching up Fred Warner, Dre Greenlaw, and company in a position group drill.

Later on, they were seen doing a drill focused on backpedaling before locating the ball for an interception.

Footwork

The 49ers' DBs were filmed focusing on footwork in a drill conducted by defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.

From Yesterday

Deep ball

Quarterback Sam Darnold was filmed warming up with deeper throws, where his arm motion was on display to begin Thursday's practice.

Short game

The 49ers quarterbacks were filmed working on the short game, as Trey Lance and Sam Darnold were both seen working on footwork and hitting short routes in drills.

First on the field

You can probably expect which players hit the field first for the 49ers on Thursday, as a certain duo came out to work on technique early before the start of practice.

Rookie Hype Machine

The rookie hype machine made a comeback on Thursday, as running back Ronald Awatt and defensive back D'Shawn Jamison danced to a popular song to hype up the crowd.
