Lamar Jackson remains available. However, the San Francisco 49ers want to make it clear that they are happy with their quarterback room, which consists of Brock Purdy, Trey Lance, and Sam Darnold.
In head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense, Jackson, a former league MVP, might be special, though. That line of thinking has generated a lot of chatter on what it might be like if the 49ers traded for the Baltimore Ravens quarterback. The team would likely become the Super Bowl favorite.
"You look into everything, and we seem to be linked to everything," John Lynch told reporters during the general manager's pre-draft media availability on Monday when asked about the 49ers' interest in Jackson. "I can tell you, I think it's how convicted we are on Brock, on this current group of guys. You're not doing your job if you don't look into things. A lot of those things, I think you're limited by the way our roster is set up."
Financially, it would be difficult for the 49ers to absorb Jackson, who is seeking a new contract. San Francisco owns under $3 million in salary-cap space, per OverTheCap.
And it's not like Jackson is the only quarterback the 49ers have been linked to. There was a report that the team might be interested in Aaron Rodgers should a deal between the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets fall through.

"And the other thing is, what's your motivation?" Lynch added. "... There's more than just Lamar. There's tremendous players, MVP-type players. We really like our guys, and we like where we're at. We like our complete roster and how they fit for multiple reasons, and we're excited about that group. So I'll just leave it at that."
