49ers to host pre-draft visit with Alabama RB Brian Robinson Jr.

According to Jordan Schultz, the San Francisco 49ers are slated to host a pre-draft visit with Alabama running back Brian Robinson Jr. next week. The player will also meet with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Commanders, and New Orleans Saints.
Robinson carried the football 271 times for 1,343 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns, adding 35 receptions for 296 yards and two receiving touchdowns through 14 game appearances as a senior in 2021, per
Sports Reference. He had 2,704 rushing yards on 545 attempts and 29 rushing touchdowns, adding 52 receptions for 446 yards and two receiving touchdowns through his five collegiate seasons.
"Brian Robinson Jr. is a redshirt senior that had seen limited action due to the stable of talented running backs Alabama has had such as Najee Harris, Damien Harris, and Josh Jacobs," wrote
Keith Sanchez of The Draft Network. "The 2021 season was the first season that Robinson was penciled in as the starter and his production elevated. Throughout the 2021 season, Robinson was able to rush for more than 1,000 yards with his best performance coming against Ole Miss, where rushed for 170 yards and four touchdowns.
"Robinson is a running back that requires a high volume of touches to really impact a football game. He is a one-cut back that can get vertical and use his power to run through arm tackles. One of Robinson's best traits is his pass protection. In pass pro, Robinson is able to quickly and effectively pick up blitzing defenders. Overall, Robinson is a short-yardage running back that can consistently gash the defense for short-yardage gains."
At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6' 1 5/8" and 225-pound Robinson had a 40-time of 4.53 seconds, a vertical jump of 30 inches, and a broad jump of 119 inches. His other measurables include an arm length of 31 7/8 inches and hands measuring 9 3/4 inches.

49ers hosting Arizona WR Jacob Cowing on pre-draft visit
The San Francisco 49ers are welcoming former Arizona wide receiver Jacob Cowing for a pre-draft visit as NFL teams finalize their evaluations ahead of the draft deadline. News of the visit comes from Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 in Houston.
During his 2023 senior season, Cowing registered 90 receptions for 848 yards and 13 touchdowns in 13 games, per Sports Reference. His best statistical season came in 2021 at UTEP, when he amassed a career-high 1,354 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, averaging an impressive 19.6 yards per catch. Cowing followed that up with a 1,034-yard, seven-touchdown campaign in 2022 after transferring to Arizona.
