This list will grow as the 2022 NFL Draft quickly approaches. The San Francisco 49ers will meet with potential draft selections leading up to the April event.

Below is a breakdown of the known meetings between draft prospects and 49ers representatives, as reported by various media sources or the prospects themselves. The representatives could be members of the coaching staff, front office, and/or team scouts. The 49ers' draft picks and scheduled interviews are listed first.

Meeting or workout dates (if known) and report sources are listed.

49ers Draft Picks (9)

  • Round 2, Overall Pick 61
  • Round 3, Overall Pick 93
  • Round 3, Overall Pick 105 (compensatory pick)
  • Round 4, Overall Pick 134
  • Round 5, Overall Pick 172
  • Round 6, Overall Pick 187 (from Denver)
  • Round 6, Overall Pick 220 (compensatory pick)
  • Round 6, Overall Pick 221 (compensatory pick)
  • Round 7, Overall Pick 262 (compensatory pick)

Last year, the 49ers traded away their first-round picks in 2022 and 2023 and a 2022 third-round compensatory pick in the move to acquire quarterback Trey Lance. That 2022 third-round pick ended up being the No. 102 overall selection.

The remaining compensatory third-round pick comes courtesy of the NFL's minority-hiring program after the Miami Dolphins hired former 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel as head coach.

The sixth-round pick (No. 187) comes from the trade of linebacker Jonas Griffith to the Denver Broncos in 2021.

The two sixth-round compensatory picks and the seventh-rounder come from last year's offseason losses of defensive linemen Solomon Thomas and Kerry Hyder and quarterback C.J. Beathard. The additions of pass rusher Samson Ebukam and center Alex Mack offset the losses of wide receiver Kendrick Bourne and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon.

A dark-horse trade candidate for the 49ers ahead of the 2022 season

By Rohan Chakravarthi
Jun 23

For much of the offseason, many 49ers fans have believed the team will move on from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, either via trade or release. However, three months after the beginning of the 2022 league year, the veteran signal-caller still remains a member of the franchise as he rehabs from shoulder surgery. Additionally, at the linebacker position, many have clamored for the 49ers to trade Dre Greenlaw, given that he's a free agent in 2023 and currently carries a cap hit of $2.54 million after signing his tender as a restricted free agent. Fellow linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair broke out last season while Greenlaw missed 14 games due to multiple injuries, creating a formidable duo at the position with former All-Pro Fred Warner. However, there's a dark horse trade

Sam Acho picks 49ers' Trey Lance as 2nd-year QB to make biggest jump in 2022

By David Bonilla
Jun 28

Last week, ESPN analyst Rob Ninkovich looked at the 2021 rookie quarterback class and stated he expects Trey Lance to make the "biggest jump" in Year 2. Another ESPN analyst, Sam Acho, agrees with that prediction. Why is Lance the best second-year quarterback, in Acho's opinion? It's because of the weapons around him. The 22-year-old quarterback will have wide receiver Deebo Samuel (assuming the offseason rift can be mended) and tight end George Kittle at his disposal. "Yes, there was a reason Zach Wilson was the second pick overall last year," Acho said. "There's a reason Trey Lance was third, right? Because he's that good as well." More critical for

Five 49ers players who could be candidates for their first Pro Bowl selection in 2022

The days surrounding July 4th are more often than not one of the slowest times of the year for NFL content, which makes it an opportune time to shamelessly borrow another site's good idea. With that in mind, let's build off a feature that was published earlier today by NFL.com that selected one player from each team that could be in line for their first Pro Bowl appearance in 2022. Feature writer Nick Shook selected running back Elijah Mitchell for the 49ers, pointing at the unexpected level of success Mitchell had in his first NFL season after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. "The 49ers enjoyed quality
