Jan 3, 2022 at 4:31 PM--

The San Francisco 49ers announced that safety Jimmie Ward has been added to the reserve/COVID-19 list. The team also announced the following roster moves.

  • RB Brian Hill has been re-signed to the practice squad
  • P Colby Wadman has been released from the practice squad

This brings the total number of 49ers players on the reserve/COVID-19 list up to four. Ward joins running back Raheem Mostert and cornerbacks Dontae Johnson and K'Waun Williams, who were added earlier today.

Hill was waived on Saturday, ahead of the 49ers' Week 17 win over the Houston Texans.

Last week, we found out what numbers many of the San Francisco 49ers rookies would be wearing during the team's three-day rookie minicamp. Those numbers will be sticking around through at least the rest of the offseason program. Obviously, they are subject to change after roster cuts ahead of Week 1. Deebo Samuel is once again following his team, the San Francisco 49ers, on Instagram. That's significant considering the drama that ensued when the dynamic wide receiver stopped following the team, removed his profile picture, and all other 49ers-related content from his profile on the social media platform (h/t @OurSf49ers_). Deebo Samuel is once again following the #49ers on Instagram.
