At 1-14, the Jacksonville Jaguars are locked in to own the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, with the New York Jets locked in at No. 2. The Miami Dolphins are currently situated to pick at No. 3.

The San Francisco 49ers, at 6-9, are currently projected to select at No. 15 overall based on record and the strength-of-schedule from the entire 16-game schedule (not if the season ended today). This is a three-spot drop after the team's Week 16 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

The 49ers started Monday at No. 14 overall but fell one more spot after the Buffalo Bills beat the New England Patriots.

Below is the projected draft order through Week 16 and using the strength-of-schedule from the entire season. Only the top 18 spots are listed below as the remainder will be based on the outcome of the playoffs.

TEAM, RECORD, STRENGTH-OF-SCHEDULE

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars, 1-14, .548
  2. New York Jets, 2-13, .592
  3. Miami Dolphins (via Houston Texans), 4-11, .540
  4. Atlanta Falcons, 4-11, .550
  5. Cincinnati Bengals, 4-10-1, .527
  6. Philadelphia Eagles, 4-10-1, .531
  7. Detroit Lions, 5-10, .504
  8. New York Giants, 5-10, .506
  9. Carolina Panthers, 5-10, .529
  10. Denver Broncos, 5-10, .567
  11. Dallas Cowboys, 6-9, .465
  12. Los Angeles Chargers, 6-9, .490
  13. Minnesota Vikings, 6-9, .508
  14. New England Patriots, 6-9, .533
  15. San Francisco 49ers, 6-9, .544
  16. Oakland Raiders, 7-8, .542
  17. Arizona Cardinals, 8-7, .473
  18. Indianapolis Colts, 10-5, .444

The following is a list of the potential eight selections the 49ers might own next year before compensatory picks are factored in.

San Francisco gained a fifth-round selection from the trade that sent Kwon Alexander to the New Orleans Saints. The linebacker reportedly met the playing-time benchmark required to turn the 2022 selection into a 2021 pick before by suffering an unfortunate Achilles injury.

The 49ers traded away their third-round pick for offensive tackle Trent Williams and obtained a seventh-round pick from the New York Jets during the trade for defensive end Jordan Willis.

  • 1st round, No. 15 overall
  • 2nd round, No. 46 overall
  • 4th round, No. 108 overall
  • 5th round, No. 139 overall
  • 5th round, No. 157 overall (from NO)
  • 6th round, No. 175 overall
  • 7th round, No. 194 overall (from NYJ)
  • 7th round, No. 206 overall
