Apr 1, 2008 at 10:53 PM--

Yes, the article that appeared as the lead story on Tuesday, April 1st, was an April Fools story. As we do every year, the staff (big thanks to Oscar for his hand in writing most of it) worked hard to come up with yet another April 1st gag.

Thank you to all of the 49ers fans who found it amusing. And thanks to all of those who were actually tricked by it. We had fun tricking you and then reading about your panic attacks in the forum. And thanks to everyone that helped ... staff and non-staff.

And an even bigger thanks to the media outlets that were tricked by it. That always makes us smile.

By David Bonilla
Jan 25

McCaffrey came in second with nearly 29 percent of the votes, while rookie quarterback Brock Purdy earned almost 21 percent. Our fans have chosen an MVP

There are no more guaranteed games, but there's football to be played, and right now is the time to exult in it. No matter who you root for, you can imagine your team finding a way to win, a way to keep playing football, and filling your February with excitement and joy. Right now, there's nothing standing between your team and glory except the vagaries of chance and a well-fought effort this weekend, and hopefully the next. And for those of you who aren't rooting for a team that's made it this far, never fear. 7 of the 14 playoff entrants this year didn't make it into the dance last year. The
