49ers-Rams Injury Report: Jaquiski Tartt, Dee Ford, Jullian Taylor ruled out

Dec 19, 2019 at 1:37 PM--

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 16 contest against the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Cornerbacks Richard Sherman (hamstring) and K'Waun Williams (concussion) are on track to play on Saturday. Both practiced for the third consecutive day and did not appear on Thursday's injury report.

Safety Jaquiski Tartt (ribs) and defensive end Dee Ford (quadricep, hamstring) continue to miss practice and have been ruled out for Saturday. Head coach Kyle Shanahan doesn't expect Ford to return until the playoffs.

"I'd be shocked if he was ready for Seattle," Shanahan said Thursday morning on KNBR. "I'm counting on him being ready for the first playoff game, whether that's a Wildcard game or whether it's a week off and a divisional game at home."

Defensive lineman Jullian Taylor returned to practice for the first time since suffering a ligament injury in his elbow during Week 13 against the Baltimore Ravens. He has been ruled out for Saturday, however. Shanahan said after Thursday's practice that he hopes to have Taylor back for Week 17.

Guard Mike Person is listed as "questionable" for Saturday due to a neck injury. Shanahan was asked about the plan should Person be unable to play.

"(Daniel) Brunskill can play guard," Shanahan responded. "(Justin) Skule can play guard. We'd most likely lean toward Brunskill, though."

Below are the official injury reports for the 49ers and Rams, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff. Also included are this week's practice participation reports.

Tight end George Kittle missed his third practice of the week and has been ruled "out" of Sunday's game due to a knee injury. Kittle suffered the injury just before halftime during Week 1's loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Cornerback Jason Verrett is the only other 49ers player who has officially been ruled "out" — other than those on injury lists. Defensive end Dee Ford experienced some neck stiffness this week and underwent further tests. He has been listed as "questionable" to play against the Jets. On the Jets' side, wide receiver Jamison Crowder has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury.

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 2 contest against the New York Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Neither tight end George Kittle (knee) nor cornerback Jason Verrett (hamstring) practiced. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said this week that he hopes Kittle can practice on Friday, but even if he can't, that doesn't necessarily rule him out for Sunday's game. Defensive end Dee Ford also did not practice. The injury report notes that it was due to a neck injury. The pass rusher was a full participant on Wednesday. Cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon (concussion) returned to practice, albeit in a blue no-contact jersey. He is in the concussion protocol. The 49ers will be without starter Richard Sherman for the next
