The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 16 contest against the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

There wasn't much of a change from Tuesday's walk-through. Defensive end Dee Ford, safety Jaquiski Tartt, and defensive tackle Jullian Taylor continue to miss practice.

Tartt has been inactive the last two games after suffering a rib injury during Week 13 against the Baltimore Ravens. Taylor sustained a ligament injury in his elbow during the same game while Ford's hamstring injury occurred during Week 14 against the New Orleans Saints.

NFL Network reported on Tuesday that Ford's injury could require four weeks of recovery, which would make the veteran pass rusher unavailable for the remainder of the regular season.

Cornerbacks Richard Sherman (hamstring) and K'Waun Williams (concussion) practiced for the second consecutive day.

Linebacker Kwon Alexander, who is on injured reserve with a torn pectoral muscle, was seen getting some work in on a side field, according to multiple reports. There was a report on Tuesday that Alexander is eligible to return for the playoffs. Head coach Kyle Shanahan, however, called the chances a "long shot."

"It would be awesome if he could (return)," Shanahan added, "but it's a really big injury, and that would be down the road. So there would be an outside chance at it, but we haven't ruled it out."

Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Rams, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
