Defensive end Nick Bosa will find out later today if he made the NFC roster for the 2020 Pro Bowl. The first-year player is having an impressive rookie campaign and recorded his ninth sack of the season during Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
On Saturday, for the second time this season, Bosa will face Rams tackle Andrew Whitworth. It will be the rookie going against the 14-year veteran and four-time Pro Bowler.
"When you watch tape, it's unbelievable how you never see anybody throw a flag on him," Bosa said of Whitworth on Tuesday. "He's so good at holding and doing all these small things."
Added Bosa: "I might think I have a great bull rush, but in reality, he's got my two pads, and he's pulling me to the ground with him. So he just uses what you do well against you, and he's just really good. He's been doing it for a long time."
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay jumped on a conference call with Bay Area reporters on Tuesday and discussed what he's seen from Bosa during the pass rusher's rookie year.
"Nick Bosa is playing outstanding," McVay said. "You see a relentless motor, an extremely polished rookie. You don't see many players at that age have that much polish to their game. It's such a complete game.
"I mean, you can see this guy's been bred to do this. He's got a great motor. They do a nice job of trying to create some opportunities for him based on some of those known passing situations and where they'll get him, or they'll try to create conflict with your protections.
"It's going to be a great challenge. He's been an outstanding player on one of the best defenses in the league."
