San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, an important part of the team's run-game support, left Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints in the fourth quarter at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. He was slow to get up and evaluated for a concussion after taking a forearm from an opposing player to the head and neck area.
Update: Juszczyk returned to the game after passing his concussion evaluation.
The Saints were penalized for unnecessary roughness, and the play took place shortly before a scoring touchdown pass from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to wide receiver Kendrick Bourne, giving the 49ers a 42-33 lead with about nine minutes remaining in the game.
Juszczyk is in his seventh NFL season and third with San Francisco. He missed four games this season with a knee injury but has been the team's starting fullback since returning during Week 10.
