Kwon Alexander was officially placed on injured reserve today. The San Francisco 49ers linebacker provided an update from his hospital bed following the surgery to repair the torn pectoral muscle he suffered last Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals.
Alexander, of course, used the word "legendary" to describe the surgery in the Instagram post and thanked the fans for the support.
"Minor set back for a legendary come back," wrote 49ers teammate Arik Armstead in the comments.
"Yesssirrrrrr," wrote defensive tackle D.J. Jones.
"Heal up fast bra!! Legendary as always," wrote running back Matt Breida.
"Boy gon be back better than ever," wrote fellow "Hot Boyzz" linebacker Fred Warner.
Several other players, like Jaquiski Tartt, Richard Sherman, Jerick McKinnon, and D.J. Reed, also left comments for their injured teammate.
The 49ers signed Alexander to a four-year deal in March. He became a vocal leader on the defense and finished the year with 34 combined tackles, 0.5 sacks, four passes defensed, an interception, and a forced fumble through eight starts.
