Josh Norris of Rotoworld joined the Unbuttoned Podcast with Chris Simms and Paul Burmeister this week to discuss the top fantasy football players headed into 2019. Norris tried to dig up a little insider information on San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Dante Pettis. Simms, after all, is close friends with 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Norris notes that Pettis averaged over 18 fantasy points per game over his final four games played as a rookie.

"[Shanahan and I] don't really get into those conversations," Simms said. "I can tell you that he thinks really highly of him, as far as just when he came out in the draft. I'll tell you some of the things that I know that Kyle likes, just because of the history of knowing Kyle, what he looks for at the wide receiver position.

"Pettis can do everything. He won't have a specific role in that offense, like where Marquise Goodwin is the downfield guy. George Kittle is going to kind of work the middle of the field in the intermediate routes.

RELATED Potential breakout star Dante Pettis the reason 49ers passed on Brown and Beckham, says Schrager

"Dante can do it all. He can be the intricate, little, really good, short route runner, but he has got enough speed to win down the field, if need be. Then they catch the ball over the middle. He's a great route-runner and all those things. I would expect that he gets a number of opportunities this year."

Simms notes that expecting 100 catches from Pettis might be pushing it but can envision the wideout with 1,000-or-more receiving yards.

You can watch the entire show below. The conversation shifts to Pettis at about the 1:13:15 mark.

One former San Francisco 49ers player is making his opinion of Super Bowl 58 very clear. He believes his former team was dealt a bad hand in the matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas two months ago. Former 49ers safety Donte Whitner, appearing this week on the "Up & Adam" show with Kay Adams, was vocal regarding the matchup and how certain circumstances seemed to favor the Chiefs. "And when we think about the Super Bowl as well, I think that the 49ers played against the refs as well, guys," Whitner told Adams. "I think that when we look at that film and you see bear hugs on those defensive ends, right? And you really see it in blatant moments in the game." Adams couldn't help but laugh at Whitner's comments, and the former player

Rumor: Steelers believe they can acquire 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk at a bargain

By David Bonilla
Apr 17

According to Sports Illustrated contributor Noah Strackbein, who writes for "All Steelers" on the network, there's a level of confidence within the Pittsburgh Steelers organization that they can strike a deal for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk—and at a bargain rate. "According to a team source, the Steelers and 49ers trade talks are real," Strackbein wrote. "While nothing is imminent, they 'would be surprised if it didn't happen.' But it all comes down to compensation, and Pittsburgh isn't willing to budge much on price." While it seems unlikely that the 49ers would part ways with Aiyuk for anything less than a first-round draft
