The San Francisco 49ers waived seven players on Monday in preparation for signing several undrafted free agents. Two of those players, linebacker James Onwualu and defensive back Godwin Igwebuike, were claimed off of waivers, according to NBC Sports Bay Area.

The Jacksonville Jaguars claimed Onwualu while the Philadelphia Eagles claimed Igwebuike.

The 49ers signed Onwualu on November 19, 2018, and then promoted him to the active roster eight days later. He appeared in five games with San Francisco and made two tackles and forced a fumble.

The 49ers claimed Igwebuike off waivers on November 27, 2018, after he was waived by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Igwebuike also appeared in five games with San Francisco and recorded one tackle, which came during a Week 16 contest against the Chicago Bears.

The 49ers will hold a rookie minicamp over the weekend. Several of San Francisco's rookies will be made available to the media on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. and Friday at 11:30 p.m PT.

Friday's 1:00 p.m. practice will be open to the media.
