The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 14 contest against the Denver Broncos on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
In case you missed the earlier news, wide receiver Marquise Goodwin returned to the team on Monday after a lengthy excused absence to deal with a personal matter. He practiced on Wednesday, and head coach Kyle Shanahan
expects his starting wideout to play against Denver.
"I'm just happy that he's doing better, good enough to be back in the building," Shanahan told reporters before Wednesday's practice. "I just got to see him a little bit in meetings today, so we'll see him out at practice today, see where he's at, how he looks, and we'll decide as the week goes."
Wednesday injury notes:
- Shanahan has ruled out both running back Matt Breida and safety Jaquiski Tartt against the Broncos.
- Running back Jeff Wilson, who received significant playing time against Seattle, is dealing with a foot injury but did practice.
- Wide receiver Pierre Garçon, who has missed each of the 49ers' past three games and four of the past five, participated in Wednesday's practice but remained limited. Garçon was limited during each practice last week and eventually ruled out against Seattle.
- Linebacker Dekoda Watson did not practice. Shanahan said on Monday that he would be placed on injured reserve after suffering a torn calf against Seattle.
- Guard Joshua Garnett and safety D.J. Reed returned to practice.
Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Broncos, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 3 contest against the New York Giants on Thursday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Brandon Aiyuk will likely be a game-time decision. On Wednesday morning, general manager John Lynch shared that the wide receiver is working hard this week to play on Thursday. Aiyuk suffered a shoulder injury on a catch during the 49ers' opening drive on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.
"I think, with Brandon, with these Thursday night games, they're a quick turnaround," Lynch said during a radio interview. "So he clearly got something irritated in his chest/shoulder area. He's working really hard to try to get ready.
49ers injury news: Deebo Samuel avoids serious injury, other updates from Kyle Shanahan
San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan jumped on a conference call with reporters on Friday afternoon, the day after the team's 30-12 win over the New York Giants. Shanahan provided several injury updates.
Linebackers Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles and Dre Greenlaw emerged from Thursday night's game with low-ankle sprains. Both are day-to-day. The good news is that players have some extra time off before returning to work on Monday, when the 49ers begin preparing for the Arizona Cardinals.
The only other player who was banged up in the Week 3 contest is wide receiver Deebo Samuel. The 49ers initially feared a rib injury, but

49ers vs. Giants Injury Report: Brandon Aiyuk, Ambry Thomas limited in light Tuesday practices
The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 3 contest against the New York Giants on Thursday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The team did not hold a full practice, instead opting to have players participate in two walkthroughs due to the short week.
Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is still dealing with the shoulder injury sustained on his first catch against the Los Angeles Rams this past weekend. Cornerback Ambry Thomas is working through a knee injury. Both players were listed as limited participants on Tuesday.
Will the receiver be a game-time decision? What does the 49ers head coach need to know before deciding whether Aiyuk plays against the Giants?
"Just that the trainers and him himself tell me he can go," Kyle
