The San Francisco 49ers worked out three veteran linebackers on Monday, including one who was with the team for just over five seasons. Michael Wilhoite, Thurston Armbrister, and Tyrell Adams worked out for San Francisco, according to a report from Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, as the team looks to sign a linebacker to fill the roster vacancy following the departure of Reuben Foster.

The 49ers signed Wilhoite to the practice squad on December 14, 2011, after the linebacker spent a season in the United Football League. He remained with the team through the 2016 season before signing with the Seattle Seahawks in 2017.

Wilhoite, who is by far the most experienced of the three linebackers, registered 298 combined tackles, half a sack, 11 passes defensed, four interceptions, and two forced fumbles during his NFL career.

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Armbrister as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Miami in 2015. He has spent time with the Detroit Lions (2016-17) and New York Giants (2018).

Armbrister registered 38 combined tackles and a pass defensed during his NFL career.

The Seahawks signed Adams as an undrafted free agent out of West Georgia in 2015. He eventually landed on the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad and then went on to spend time with the Oakland Raiders (2016-17), Buffalo Bills (2017), Indianapolis Colts (2018), and Houston Texans (2018).

Adams registered 20 combined tackles during his NFL career.

Update: Howard Balzer of The Sports Xchange and nfldraftscout.com reported the following list of players who worked out for the 49ers on Monday. Linebacker Tyrell Adams and wide receiver Max McCaffrey were signed to the practice squad on Tuesday.
