Despite the San Francisco 49ers activating rights with KPIX 5 to live stream the team's four preseason games, fans outside the local broadcast area are still left searching for options to watch the games. One exhibition matchup they won't have to worry about is the opener against the Dallas Cowboys on August 9 at Levi's Stadium. That game will be one of 15 live broadcasts on NFL Network.

KPIX 5, along with each opponent's local broadcast affiliate, will air the remainder of the 49ers' preseason games. San Francisco will follow up the opener with road games against the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts before returning to Levi's Stadium for the preseason finale against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Outside of the 49ers-Cowboys game, out-of-market fans will need to subscribe to NFL Game Pass or find other options to watch the three remaining matchups. The NFL used to offer a separate reasonably-priced preseason streaming package but recently combined the service into the more expensive NFL Game Pass.
