The San Francisco 49ers are holding their local pro day today at 1:00 p.m. Pacific at the team's facility in Santa Clara. The prospects will have an opportunity to work out for the 49ers coaching staff, front office, and scouts.

The local pro day will feature athletes from college programs in the area like Stanford, Cal, and San Jose State. Draft prospects from the Bay Area who played for college teams elsewhere are also eligible to take part.

The 49ers released a roster of the participants today. A limited number of those players will be made available to the media following the workout.

The 49ers currently have nine selections in the upcoming draft, which kicks off on April 26 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

49ers' Trent Williams and Deebo Samuel named to 2021 NFL All-Pro Team

By David Bonilla
Jan 14

Two San Francisco 49ers players were named to their first NFL All-Pro team. One is third-year wide receiver Deebo Samuel, one of the most dynamic players in the game. The second is the team's nine-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle, Trent Williams. Both were first-team selections. Until now, Williams, a first-round draft pick in 2010, has gone his entire career without being named to an All-Pro team, which may be difficult to believe. On Thursday, a reporter asked the veteran tackle what it would mean to finally be named an All-Pro. "I think it would feel good, finally," Williams responded. "It sucks because I can't let it define my career because I've never made it. If I felt like that's what I needed to define my career, then anything I've done up to

Jimmy Garoppolo acknowledges mistakes during 49ers-Cowboys, says outside noise fuels him

"It held up," Jimmy Garoppolo said of his injured right thumb after the San Francisco 49ers' 23-17 playoff victory over the Dallas Cowboys. "Pretty much the same as last week. I mean, it's a day-to-day fight." The torn ligament and chipped bone in Garoppolo's thumb may have contributed to the quarterback's costly fourth-quarter interception. Garoppolo was targeting wide receiver Trent Sherfield, but the football ended up in the hands of Cowboys cornerback Anthony Brown. "I didn't grip it the right way," Garoppolo later told NBC Sports' Peter King. "Not trying to make excuses, but things happen like that. Really not too much more to it than

49ers' Kyle Shanahan shocked by Nick Bosa All-Pro snub

By David Bonilla

Two San Francisco 49ers players—tackle Trent Williams and wide receiver Deebo Samuel—were named to the 2021 NFL All-Pro Team. Noticeably absent from the new list of All-Pros was defensive end Nick Bosa, who finished behind T.J. Watt, Myles Garrett, Robert Quinn, and Maxx Crosby in the voting. At least one person inside the 49ers organization felt the third-year pass rusher was snubbed. "I definitely think Bosa should be there; there's no doubt about that," head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Friday. "I'm shocked that—I don't think people appreciate how good Bosa is, play-in and play-out. I've heard people talk about him for Comeback Player of the Year, and every time they say that, I can't believe he hasn't been mentioned in Defensive Player of the
