San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman has had a busy week. On Wednesday, he married his fiancée, Ashley, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Canta in the Dominican Republic. The two have been engaged since 2015 and have two children together.
Ashley was even part of Sherman's contract negotiations with the 49ers, according to general manager John Lynch.
"His [fiancée] Ashley, a pretty darn good agent too," Lynch ESPN Radio last week. "At one point we were stuck, and she came up with a great comment to move the thing forward."
In attendance at the wedding were several of Sherman's former Seattle Seahawks teammates, including Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, Ricardo Lockette, and Brandon Browner. Below are photos and video of the wedding posted by Sherman and some of his guests.
As if his wedding wasn't enough, Sherman is celebrating his 30th birthday on Friday.
"Obviously, I've got a wedding to go to and some things to do," Sherman said last week during his introductory press conference. "It's going to be quite the March for me, 30th birthday, wedding, new team, new environment."
Much has been made of the players the 49ers lost, released, or traded these past few weeks. Many pundits have begun suggesting this is a rebuild rather than a reset. But while the list is long, the real question is whether it was significant.
