The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of defensive back Trovon Reed to the practice squad on Wednesday.
Reed entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the St. Louis Rams in August of 2015, where he spent a month before being released and then signed to the team's practice squad. He also spent time on the Miami Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks practice squads in 2015.
Last year following training camp, Reed was waived by the Seahawks and then joined the San Diego Chargers practice squad on October 26, 2016. He was promoted to the active roster on November 22, 2016, and appeared in San Diego's final six games of the season with one start. During those six games, he had eight tackles, three passes defensed, and two interceptions.
Reed was waived by the Chargers on September 2. He spent some time on the Seahawks practice squad before being released on December 12.
